The squares throughout the photos are meant to represent people’s main focus: themselves. This is showcased with the square being placed on the models’ faces. The projection of various ghost-like figures and doubles symbolize one’s thoughts in the present in comparison to those in the past time. These thoughts tend to loom on the mind but never truly reach the surface. A mirror was used to take every photograph. Some show the mirrors present in the photograph while others were taken in the mirror itself. The mirrors and the reflections themselves are meant to represent the consequences of one’s decisions. The mirrors in the photographs are shown reflecting virtually nothing, thus modeling the lack of consideration for repercussions..

***The photographs were all shot on a Canon 800D using natural light. They were shot over a period of three weeks. The editing process consisted of sharpening, and converting the images to greyscale. The overlays I created were created from different photographs taken in the same spaces. From there, I layered them onto the main photograph and altered the opacity. I made the decision to make the photographs black and white because it more accurately showcases the composition, mirrors, and editing.
